Richmond (pop. 140,000) is an island city nestled in the arms of the Fraser River and perched at the edge of nature. It is one of the Lower Mainland's oldest communities, lying mostly on Lulu Island, the largest of 17 islands at the mouth of the mighty Fraser River. Home to one of North America's busiest and most modern international airports, its central location is just south of Vancouver and within easy reach of the U.S. border. Known fondly as the Garden City, Richmond boasts 1,407 acres of park land. It offers a variety of recreational activities: tennis courts, playgrounds, picnic areas, outdoor pools, golf courses, running tracks and sports fields. We have included a list of contacts for anyone interested in obtaining more information about Richmond.
